RAL expands its Management team: Christoph Eßer-Ayertey joins the RAL Management team

In recent years, RAL has grown steadily – in terms of the scope, complexity and dynamism of its work. Strengthening the Management team is necessary from both a strategic and organisational perspective and will enhance the institute’s capacity to act in the long term. Together with Chief Executive Rüdiger Wollmann and Managing Director Thomas Roßbach, Christoph Eßer-Ayertey will in future drive forward future-oriented development in a targeted manner, optimise processes and promote innovation. “We are convinced that expanding the Management team is an important step for RAL’s continued performance and future viability,” emphasises Chief Executive Rüdiger Wollmann.

Christoph Eßer-Ayertey has been with the company since 2022 and has made a significant contribution to the successful development of the RAL ENVIRONMENT business area during this time. Since joining the company, he has been responsible for awarding the environmental label Blue Angel and the EU Ecolabel on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Federal Environment Agency and the European Commission.
He possesses extensive knowledge of conformity assessment and labelling systems, as well as business management and strategic corporate development. Under his leadership, the RAL ENVIRONMENT business area has provided significant impetus, modernised structures and further strengthened its public image as a reliable partner for environmental labelling. The graduate engineer (civil engineering) also obtained his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from RWTH Aachen University in 2015.
