Organisational Structure

RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung e. V. is responsible for the system of RAL Quality Assurance system and acts as the umbrella organisation for all Quality Assurance Associations (Gütegemeinschaften). RAL gGmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the association.

Our organisational structure

The institute consists of an Executive Board, a Board of Trustees, a General Assembly and the management.
To ensure the independence and neutrality of the association, both the RAL Executive Board and the Board of Trustees are composed of a balanced and impartial group of members.

RAL Quality Marks (RAL Gütezeichen), a labelling system for high-quality, safe and reliable products and services, was established by the institute as an independent, neutral organisation.

Founded in 2008, RAL GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the institute. Its business areas include RAL COLOURS, RAL ENVIRONMENT and RAL LOGO LICENCE. In addition, the RAL ACADEMY offers advanced training for colour designers and others interested in colour. We also offer tailor-made in-house courses, including those in the field of RAL quality assurance.
