Actors EU Ecolabel
The European Commission is the owner of the EU Ecolabel. The highest authority is the European Union Ecolabelling Board (EUEB). For Germany, the Federal Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt ,UBA) and RAL gGmbH have been designated by the BMUV as the competent bodies for the European Commission.

A look behind the scenes of the EU Ecolabel – What and who is behind the EU Ecolabel?
We took a look behind the scenes of the EU Ecolabel and explain how RAL, the Federal Environment Agency, the Federal Ministry for the Environment (Bundesumweltministerium, BMUKN) and the EU Commission are working together to set an example for greater environmental protection. In Berlin, we spoke with EU Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius about the European Commission's environmental label and were there to witness a certificate presentation first-hand.
